The Grade 10 practicum was held last March 12-14, 2024 in the Holy Family Building’s Grade 12 classrooms as part of their requirement for their Technology and Livelihood Education subject taught by Ms. Aileen Pacle. Let's get to know the six restaurants created by the Grade 10 students.
“From the movies to your table.” Natsukashii from 10-Pamayanan enlivened the magic of Ghibli films through their fine dining experience. Abigail Castro, a member of Natsukashii, states, “The process was lengthy and meticulous, especially with 16 people, but it was a good learning experience overall.”
“One bite at a time, indulge in the flavors of Italy.” Buono Cenare is a vintage Italian restaurant created by 10-Pamayanan. The Head of Design, Bea Asaña, states, “It was very stressful. We’ve been planning this since the school year started, and we're doing things related to it until now.” Through this event, they learned to be resourceful.
“A taste of tomorrow with a bite from today!” Yoru Pop from 10-Pananagutan is a Japanese restaurant reminiscent of retro nights along the jazzy streets of Tokyo; centered around the students’ interest in Japanese culture. Isabela Crisostomo, the Assistant General Manager, expresses her gratitude to their Leader and Manager, Dominique Bangay, especially those in the food service industry.
“~ Experience the Delicacy with Amavi.” Serving European cuisine, Veni Vidi Amavi from 10-Pananagutan is classy, elegant, and cozy. The Business Owner, Julianne Espinas, expresses how rewarding it was to come so far after all they have spent together. She learned that running a restaurant is more than research, operations, and revenue; it is also about the employees that make the business successful.
“Serving up retro sights and exquisita bites!” Created by 10-Bayanihan, En Ruta 50s is your classic American diner infused with a fun Mexican twist. According to their General Manager, Therese Escoto, their group aimed to serve the community and enjoy the working experience. Despite the stress, they still had fun in the process.
“Here to give you a taste of your dream through Disney.” A Disney-inspired restaurant, Whimsical Dreams from 10-Bayanihan, fulfilled everyone's Disney fantasies. Whimsical Dreams’ Leader, Brielle Villar, states, “I became stronger as a leader, better as a team member.” She learned that plans don't always go through, and that is okay.

These students’ hard work did not go to waste as

their schoolmates enjoyed every bit of their efforts. They learned to stay resilient and use their creativity to the fullest when faced with obstacles. We thank the Grade 10 students for their fine dining services and for giving us a newfound appreciation for the workers in this industry.
